Every Wednesday from 6.30 to 9.30pm, there is a three hour stint of artistic wizardry going on at the University of London Union art society’s life drawing session under the tutelage of Simon Tolhurst. It’s a very relaxed and friendly environment with a great mix of fast and long poses.
Here’s a couple of the pictures from last night:
Andrew Berridge has a really clean and appealing style and is able to produce great portraits (this is an excellent likeness of the model as well):
Arianna has a distinctive style to her drawings. Her weapon of choice seems to be blue pencil, and it sure works well for her:
And going wild with fantastic use of pastel colours is Mayko:
Simon, ULU’s excellent life drawing teacher, has recently completed a fantastic new painting. He explained that being able to paint the entire thing with the model posing for the duration of the painting, made a huge difference. Check out more of Simon’s pictures at his blog here.

I like all of them but I love Arianna’s the most. Great job to all!!
Yeah they’re really great. There’s a lot of great artists at ULU on Wednesday evenings 🙂
