Note from Kenzo:

Every time we step into the photography studio, we are clear that the goal is not to get the most beautiful photos, it is that you have the most perfectly designed references specifically for drawing and painting.
The simplest and often best light setup for figure drawing is to have one main light source that is set up to create clear shadow shapes on the figure. These references are fantastic for quick sketches because of the simplicity in the shapes they provide.
Sometimes it’s useful to have a little more complexity in the light by adding a rim light or another type of secondary light. Such lighting setups will be great for figure paintings and longer works where you have time to render the more complex light.
The poses you’ll find here are top notch because we work with experienced professional life models that know what artists need. We are also able to take quick burst shots to capture natural actions.
